All data subjects whose personal data is collected, in line with the requirements of the GDPR.

2. Responsibilities

2.1 BKIS is responsible for ensuring that this notice is made available to data subjects prior to the BKIS collecting/processing their personal data, via the following website: https://www.inspiredstillness.com

2.2 All volunteers of the BKIS who interact with data subjects are responsible for ensuring that this notice is drawn to the data subject’s attention and their consent to the processing of their data is secured.

3. Privacy notice

3.1 Who are we?
BKIS /BK Publications is an arm of Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University (UK) https://www.inspiredstillness.com/ is a site operated by Brahma Kumaris Information Services Ltd. Providing spiritual related products to support the teaching of the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University a charitable trust registered with the Charity Commission with number 269971 and address Global Co-Operation House, 65-69 Pound Lane, London NW10 2HH (“We”). We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office with Registration number Z6079264.

The personal data we collect will be used for the following purposes:

  • marketing purposes
  • selling of goods / products
  • to comply with financial regulations

Our legal basis for processing for the personal data:

  • processing is necessary to comply with legal obligations of the Data Controller
  • data subject gives consent for one or more specific purposes
  • processing is necessary to protect the vital interests of the data subject

3.2 Consent

Consent is required for BKIS to process personal data, but it must be explicitly given. Incase we might ask you for special category data (previously sensitive personal data) we will always tell you why and how the information will be used.

You may withdraw consent at any time by notifying the BK Publications Team via email (hello@inspiredstillness.com) in line with the withdrawal consent procedures.GDPR DOC 2.7A].

3.3 Disclosure
BKIS will not pass on your personal data to third parties and / or third countries (where applicable) without first obtaining your consent.

3.4 Retention period
BKIS will process your personal data for as long as strictly needed, as per the GDPR requirements and will store the personal data in line with the BKIS Retention Period Policy – Refer to GDPR DOC 2.3.

3.5 Your rights as a data subject
At any point while we are in possession of or processing your personal data, you, the data subject, have the following rights:

  • Right of access – you have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you.
  • Right of rectification – you have a right to request us to correct data that we hold about you incase that data is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Right to be forgotten – in certain circumstances you can ask for the data we hold about you to be erased from our records.
  • Right to restriction of processing – where certain conditions apply to have a right to request us to restrict the processing.
  • Right of portability – you have the right to have the data we hold about you transferred to another organisation.
  • Right to object – you have the right to object to certain types of processing such as direct marketing.
  • Right to object to automated processing, including profiling – you also have the right to be subject to the legal effects of automated processing or profiling.

All of the above requests will be forwarded on should there be a third party involved (as
stated in 3.4 above) in the processing of your personal data.

3.6 Complaints
In the event that you wish to make a complaint about how your personal data is being processed by BKIS, or how your complaint has been handled, you have the right to lodge a complaint directly with the supervisory authority and BKIS data protection representatives GDPR Team.

4. Online privacy statement

4.1 Personal data
Under the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) personal data is defined as:
“any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (‘data subject’); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person”.

4.2 How we use your information
This privacy notice tells you how we, BKIS, will collect and use your personal data for
marketing and sales purposes, cookies[1], complaints, subscriptions, processing orders
etc.

4.3 Why does BKIS need to collect and store personal data?
In order for us to provide you with marketing and sales information, in order to comply with
financial regulations we need to collect personal data. In any event, we are committed to
ensuring that the information we collect and use is appropriate for these purpose, and does
not constitute an invasion of your privacy.
In terms of being contacted for marketing purposes BKIS would contact you
for additional consent.

4.5 How will BKIS use the personal data it collects about me?
BKIS will process (collect, store and use) the information you provide in a manner
compatible with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We will endeavour to
keep your information accurate and up to date, and not keep it for longer than is necessary.
BKIS is required to retain information in accordance with the law, such as information
needed for income tax and audit purposes. How long certain kinds of personal data should
be kept may also be governed by specific charity and business-sector requirements and
agreed practices.

4.6 Under what circumstances will BKIS contact me?
Our aim is not to be intrusive, and we undertake not to ask irrelevant or unnecessary
questions. Moreover, the information you provide will be subject to rigorous measures and
procedures to minimise the risk of unauthorised access or disclosure.

4.7 Can I find out the personal data that the BKIS holds about me?
BKIS at your request, can confirm what information we hold about you and how it is processed. If BKIS does hold personal data about you, you can submit a request to access to personal data in line with the General Data Protection Regulations.

4.8 What forms of ID will I need to provide in order to access this?
BKIS accepts one of the following forms of ID when information on your personal data is requested: Passport, driving licence, utility bill from last 3 months with address details.

4.9 Document Owner and Approval

BKIS as Data Controller is the owner of this document and is responsible for ensuring
that this record is reviewed in line with the review requirements of the GDPR.

5. Gift Voucher Terms & Conditions

  1. Validly activated gift vouchers and eGifts issued by Inspired Stillness UK (“Sterling Gift Voucher “) can be used as full or part payment for purchases made online at Inspiredstillness.com.
  2. No change or refunds will be given where the sales transaction is for an amount less than the balance on the gift voucher, but the balance may be applied to future purchases.
  3. Gift vouchers cannot be used to purchase gift vouchers, additional gift vouchers nor can a gift voucher (and any gift voucher balance) be exchanged for cash.
  4. Inspired Stillness reserves the right to refuse to accept any gift voucher payment where it deems that a gift voucher or eGift has been tampered with, duplicated or where it is otherwise suspected to be affected by fraud.
  5. A gift voucher or eGift is for personal use only and it may not be used for commercial purposes (including but not limited to resale) without Inspired Stillness(BK Publications) prior written consent.
  6. Gift vouchers and eGifts are exempt from the Inspired Stillness Standard Returns Policy.
  7. eGift orders cannot be exchanged or refunded, except in accordance with your statutory rights.  Risk in the eGift shall pass to you upon electronic delivery of the eGift.  You are able to cancel your eGift order at any time up to 14 days after the day your order was placed. However, you agree that your right to cancellation is waived upon the electronic delivery of your eGift.
  8. A gift voucher is not a cheque guarantee, debit or credit card.
  9. If a Gift Voucher is not used for a period of 6 months from the date or purchase (or date of last card transaction, if later), it will automatically expire and any remaining balance will be deducted.
  10. Inspired Stillness reserves the right to add to or waive these terms and conditions on reasonable notice for legal, security or regulatory reasons or to discontinue the gift voucher scheme at any time in the event of circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
  11. Gift vouchers may be used for payment of goods of a higher price than the current gift voucher balance, on payment of the difference. Over payments, where goods are subsequently exchanged for goods of a lower price, will be added to the balance of the gift voucher.
