Poem: Inside the Lighthouse
Housed in a sturdy structure
Ingenious design
So many functions at my disposal
Part of a proud line
Situated on the topmost floor
Key instruments at hand
Sensitive to the elements
I seldom sleep
Shifting scenes, unusual sightings
Vessels bound on mysterious missions
Laden with cargo, mundane and the magical
I am both the observer and the interceptor
Seeing below and beyond the surface
Prevailing influences, forecast of storms
Submerged obstacles, unexpected encounters
I am the protector and the guide
Clarity and power are vital
Dust distorts my vision
The Keeper is ever watchful
Reminder of responsibility and brilliance
