The Human Heart – A poem on love
If its deepest chamber could be opened
What we would see?
Some other kind of strength perhaps. Â
A way of loving that wraps harmony
around the human family
A heart that holds sunshine inside
Like the sunniest, strongest flower imaginableÂ
Stay still enough,
Look deep enough inside
And you will see it.
A memory we all share of an ancestral age
Before divisions began
Before even sorrow began
Some have seen those faces in dreamsÂ
Some have even slipped
into a vision of that former age
And never wanted to leave
that world of complete happiness
Never wanted to stop gazing into faces
made so exquisitely beautiful
By an inner, golden, lightÂ
Of souls so pure, so unconditional in their love
So powerful in their state of fullness…
Yes, this still heart remembers
And maybe even aches a little
For our lost paradise…
