Compassion Challenge Day 2 – Letting Go
Letting Go
In order to bring about permanent change there comes a time when we need to look at what are we holding on to that is holding us back. Reflecting on this can allow dependencies to become supports to help us move forward instead. To be truly free there is a level of faith in oneself and in other, that is established. By dealing with and letting go of our fears around survival and material needs, we become happier and more wholesome beings.
Exercise
The key in letting go is practice. Each time we let go, we disentangle ourselves from our expectations and begin to experience things as they are – Sharon Salzberg
From time to time, life begins to feel heavy. Much of it comes from carrying the heaviness of yesterday. Stories, habits, beliefs that are old and no longer of use. The act of letting go is essential for stepping into newer and truer versions of our being. Wipe off the dust and remove the weeds by writing on a paper 3 things you’d like to let go of today, once written put the paper in the bin and let it go. Feel the release!
Thank you. A much needed reminder. X
Let the past be the past and move forward in happiness
So true, that is let the past be the past and move forward in happiness
Thank you for sharing. It was a simple, but powerful exercise. Made me realise how much I unnecessarily hold onto things, when it is so refreshing to move forward.
A true statement, but not always easy to do, especially when you loose a loved one.
Wonderful, so well said .
“Waking up to who you are requires letting go of who you imagine yourself to be”
Alan Watts
The most important practice of letting go,
What I feel,
letting go from yourself , what causes heaviness in your mind. Once if it possible then we can face any situation and letting go will be easier.
